(Architecture of UCLA and History of Westwood) I LOVED THIS CLASS!!! TAKE IT!!! It was once a week for an hour and we would meet at a different building and he would tour us around and tell us fun facts and little details about everything. I learned so much about UCLA and now am spitting facts to anyone who will listen. There was no homework other than one comment on a picture and our final was leading a tour with another person on a building of our choice. It was definitely worth it and was an extremely low stress class to take, and I met some super cool people! There were also only 15 people in the class so it was very fun to get to know a professor since all my other classes have like 200-300 people. I love Rob!!!

The seminar I took was called UCLA Architecture and History of Westwood. If Professor Gurval ever leads this fiat lux again in the future TAKE IT!!!! The seminar consists of weekly one hour walking tours of campus and you learn about different architecture on campus and about the history of the campus. The first 5 weeks consisted of walking tours led by the professor but starting in week 6, the tours began to be led by students in groups of 1 or 2. In order to pass you need to attend all meetings (i believe you can skip 1 if you have a valid reason), lead 1 tour on a building or campus site of your choice (maximum 20 minutes), and submit an outline and a 10 slide powerpoint about your presentation. Overall this fiat lux was very interesting and super manageable and chill. I would take this fiat lux again in a heartbeat if i could.
