Very easy course to take as a GE. You can get away with minimal effort and decent writing skills. They assigned readings that most people didn't do, but if you do them then you'll probably excel in the course. I personally found the information interesting, so I thought lectures were engaging. There were only 2 papers serving as an in class midterm and take home final. Both were self explanatory and I felt the grading was relatively lax. I took this without taking 10A and found it was still easy, overall a great class!

Dr. Romero is someone committed to social justice work. The material for 10B was really interesting and isn't as heavy as other classes I've taken before. I also suggest taking the chance to network with such an important individual.

I got an A in this class. The workload is much lighter than 10A with Alba, so that's a plus. This professor is super engaging and passionate about his teaching. There were only 2 papers. One in class as a final and a take-home final. If you're looking to buy "Latino Threat," I can sell it for a cheaper price, and I also have pdf versions of some required readings for free. Text me if interested in buying the book or in need of another **********

This class was super easy. I didn't really pay attention in lecture and only read one book out of the two required. Just read one book and you'll be fine and take notes on the slides because he doesn't post them on ccle. If you need any of the books from the class (Critical Race Theory or The Latino Threat) message me, I'm selling them for cheaper than the UCLA store **********

Professor Romero is a kind and caring professor, but his lectures were a bit dry at times. His slides contain a lot of information to write down, but he usually spends a lot of time talking about it and relating it to real-life situations. The readings for this class were okay, sometimes a bit too wordy, but as long as you get the overall meaning you'll be fine; there's weekly journals based on the readings so it's pretty necessary. The midterm was straightforward, my TA helped us come up with answers to possible prompts that ended up showing up on the exam, and Romero gave us a helpful study guide. The final wasn't that bad either, it was a 5-7 page take-home paper, and he allowed us to choose which film out of the two we watched in class to write on. Overall, this class is pretty easy, and I would recommend to anyone looking for a simple yet interesting GE.
