Quarter: Fall 2017
Grade: A
Feb. 1, 2018

This class had a lot of readings which I didn't completely do so do not worry about reading everything. As long as you put in the work, you should be fine.

There is only 1 test, which is the midterm and it is fairly hard. But its hard because its the only type of test given in the class. It is pretty thick of a packet and your hand may hurt after writing but you'll live. At the end of the class, we present about an organization that does student activism. So we make a poster and an essay about it, not that hard in my opinion. Take this class, you'll be fine!

Take this class. I'm graduating after this current quarter and this was easily one of my favorite courses I've taken at UCLA. The subhead for the class description is "Student Activism, Diversity and the Struggle for a Just Society," which is much more accurate than the basic title.

- There was a lot of reading. I enjoyed it, but I know it was a lot.

- The quizzes are easy if you've done the reading and reviewed a fair amount.

- The course material is super interesting. If you're willing to do a bit of work you won't regret the class.

Professor Rhoads is one of the best professors I've taken at UCLA!!! Highly recommend people taking a class with this guy! He's hilarious too. If you are interested in higher education and student activism on college campuses, TAKE IT! His class is only once a week because he also does research in various locations, sometimes in other countries. In terms of lectures, I felt it was very interesting and engaging. Although there is a ton of readings, this class is worth it. If you attend every lecture, he normally covers all the readings. This is helpful because there are about 6/7 pop quizzes, but he normally puts them at the end of lecture so you pretty much got all the answers if you paid attention. However, that doesn't mean don't do the readings! There was a midterm, pop quizzes, and a final research paper. On the last day, he brought everyone diddy riese cookies! If you just do your best with the readings and attend lecture and kick ass with the final research paper, you should be fine!
