Lmao this class. Half the time Clubb has no idea what he's talking about and can't explain the concepts to students and says: "go take the graduate level class", and the other half (probably directly his research) you can see that he is a world class researcher who is incredibly knowledgeable. But again, that's only half the class. So for the first half you're struggling to understand concepts because Clubb and Scott (TA) are also struggling to understand those concepts. But once you get to what they actually do research on, then everything becomes crystal clear and they also because substantially better lecturers. Like they go from bad to really, really good. I won't talk about grading because things were weird since it was online and will probably change, but if nothing changes, take this class, like 80% of us got A's. Overall, not a lot of work either. Problems sets are kinda a bummer, and the second midterm was balls awful because he wanted to lower the average. But again, considering 80% of still got A's goes to show just how easy everything but that midterm was.
If you're here to read reviews about him because you're trynna take 156 with him and he doesn't have any reviews, read one. Don't do it will be his first time teaching it and he also has advised us not to take it with him because he knows he's gonna be a mess. And if he thinks he's gonna be a mess, man oh man will that be a ride for you guys. Scott the TA is hella cool though. We as a class watched him grow a full beard in 10 weeks. That was interesting I guess.
