PLEASE TAKE THIS CLASS WITH RONG FU!!! I never write reviews but I had to give my girl her flowers. Rong Fu is genuinely one of the kindest, sweetest souls that I've met at UCLA. You can tell that she has so much passion for the subject and really cares about you as a student. Her lectures have an easy iClicker question to mark your attendance, but she also has an option for a grading scheme with no participation counted. All lectures are also recorded, with the slides and additional resources posted at the beginning of each 'unit'. Midterm exam was not too difficult and there were biweekly (every other week) online quizzes. She often jokes and engages with the class, and never failed to make me smile. It was unfortunate because my class was quite dead, but she still tried her best to be social with us. She always took/answered questions, and the assignments weren't hard. I 1000% recommend Rong Fu for any class!!!!

Class cover climate and climate modeling basics. Should be stated that while you learn about climate and climate models you never actual make models or simulations.

Her presentations can be confusing but you can tell she is trying her best. The textbook is extremely helpful and can be found for free online.

Had about 5 homework assignment that made up 30% of the final grade. Assigned on Monday and due Friday.

She allows cheat sheets on exams. One midterm exam.

While the class can be dry at times I think it covers some fundamental topics that are useful if you are considering taking more climate science based classes.
