Quarter: Winter 2020
Grade: A
March 29, 2020

Easily one of the best professors I've had at UCLA. I'm not a philosophy major and came in only having taken 1 philosophy class before. Rose explains philosophy concepts and the ideas discussed in class in such an articulate and clear way and moderates class discussions really well. She genuinely cares about students and structures the class in such a smart way, she requires you to learn and engage with the material, but offers a 3-day extension for one paper throughout the quarter and is overall very supportive of her students. Also was super adaptive/comforting/supportive during the whole COVID-19 mess the last two weeks of the quarter. Really smart and passionate and funny. Absolutely would recommend taking this class (or any class with Prof. Lenehan) if you can!

Rose is hands down one of the best professors I've had at UCLA. She explains everything with a ton of clarity and passion, and it's clear that she put so much effort into choosing the readings for the syllabus and grading our work. I learned literally so much about the world from this class, and it has fundamentally transformed my perspectives on gender and feminism. The class is a lot of reading, but it's all incredibly interesting, and I never found myself procrastinating on the work I had to do for this course. I learned a lot about myself as a writer, student, and person in this course and I recommend it to everyone!
