Prof Killip is a great lecturer and you really understand the material by the end of the class (except for the last two weeks of lecture). In the last two weeks you learn green's theorem, stoke's theorem, and divergence theorem. And that is pretty much what the entire final is mad up of and wow that was a really hard final. The midterms were reasonable. The homework was hard but doing it made you really understand the material. The class is pretty easy until those last couple weeks. I strongly recommend but be prepared.

Great lecturer! He is lowkey very sassy and funny and explains concepts very thoroughly. If you go to office hours, he is super willing to help you learn and is an understanding professor. Keep in mind that homeworks are very challenging, and that each problem takes quite a while to figure out. Tests are also pretty challenging (averages are anywhere from a high D/low C), but the class is curved. The material on the test is based only off of homeworks and what he lectures on in class. I definitely recommend Killip.

Damn, this is a hard class. While 32B has a reputation for being the hardest lower div math class, Killip's class is just pure destruction The homeworks are impossible without help from friends/TA's/Killip himself. I literally spent more time on this class than CS 32, which is a very time consuming class itself. The midterms were decent, with lowish averages (between 60-70), but the final was just the toughest exam I have ever taken in my life. I basically left 40% of the paper and thought I failed, but ended up with an A- bc the curve saved me. Killip himself is decent, and has a great sense of humor, but some lectures were incredibly confusing . Take this class if you love math and don't mind a real challenge with the homeworks, but otherwise there are other easier profs out there.

32B IS REALLY HARD BE PREPARED and Killip is pretty difficult too. His homework is usually pretty difficult and always time consuming, so definitely be prepared to set aside a L O T of time for his problems. He also loves to make up his own problems and those are honestly fucking terrible. :(

That being said, he is extremely knowledgeable and good at explaining the material (though he explains things rather quickly), very funny, and one of the most approachable professors I have ever had. Definitely go to his office hours! You will learn so much.

Just know that this class is horrible not because Killip is a bad professor (I love him I want him to teach all my math classes) but because the math is terrible and it is difficult to wrap your head around. Would HIGHLY recommend reading the textbook and watching the relevant Khan Academy videos before going to class--it makes lectures a hell of a lot easier to understand.

Killip is one of my favorite professors so far after a year at UCLA. He is probably the funniest professor or teacher I've had. There was a distinct lecture when he was doing ballet in front of the class to demonstrate some point about moments of inertia or something and everyone walked out laughing. I heard some kid say to someone else "That was fun", which is something you generally won't hear regarding math lectures.

That being said, this class is not easy, but there's not a lot Killip can do to prevent that. He really does do his best and if you have to take 32B, then Killip is the way to go. I only got a B because I had a very very heavy course load that quarter and didn't have the time to study and really understand the material.

Multi-variable integration was difficult, but Killip did a decent job teaching it. He made lectures engaging and interesting, and he did many proofs to explain how we get the theorems we use. He wrote his own problems for some of the homework, which were incredibly difficult but helpful for preparing for tests. The tests, while difficult, were not impossible as they mirrored the problem-solving skills and mastery of the material necessary to do his homework problems. That final was definitely impossible though, yet the curve must have been great. The good news about this class is that it is hard, so the curve is generally good as we're all in the same boat. He teaches the material well, and I feel like I understand it better because of him. I would recommend taking his class.

I chose Killip for Math 32B, thinking that he would be an effective professor. Overall, his lecture style wasn't too bad, but by the end of the course, he was going over proofs and other complicated material that never appeared on the exams. As a result, the hardest part of the course (Green's/Stokes'/Divergence Theorems) became even more confusing as he never really explained them well. The two midterms were somewhat difficult, but fair. The final was unreasonably difficult. Math 32B is one of the hardest lower div math courses, so I expected the class to be difficult. But after taking this class with Killip, I am hesitant to recommend him because he seemed to have made the class harder than it should be.

Killip is a pretty engaging professor overall, but his lectures can be a bit confusing as he likes to talk about examples before going over why he's doing the example or what he's trying to show through the example. Reading the book before lectures helps a lot. The midterms were fair in my opinion (I believe the averages were 26/40 and 29/40) and paled in comparison to the difficulty of some of the homework problems. His homework, although challenging, helped in preparation for the final exam (several calculation-heavy problems), which was much more difficult than the midterms. I can't say much about his office hours, but I've heard that a lot of people ask him to go over his homework problems, so that's also a good resource given that he doesn't post homework solutions. The concepts build on each other, so really try to get them down early on so you're good to go later on in the quarter when all classes get rather hectic.

Killip is a very nice and funny guy. I just didn't learn much from his lectures at all and found this class very difficult. His lecture notes have no organization to them and often you're doing super weird example problems with no context. He also makes the homework insanely hard for no reason, it will take hours and hours. And then the fact that he doesn't post homework solutions is so unhelpful. I got a tutor for this class and still did poorly, the material is just plain hard. But the midterms weren't so bad. The final was really tough. Also the grading of the final must have been brutal because almost everyone I know got a C+, even people who were way above the median on the midterms. Confused. Don't take this class, 32B sucks and Killip is such a nice funny guy but not a great teacher. Better than some math teachers though.

Had Killip for both 32A and 32B. Awesome, funny, engaging lecturer. Goes over the fundamental concepts and proof behind each theorem. I learned a lot from his class. Definitely recommend for a complete overview of multivariable calc. Be aware, midterm one was fair, midterm two was kinda brutal.
