I did not have any music background, so the concepts and technical terms were a little harder to grasp. He does, however, go over all the necessary songs in class, so make sure to take notes as they are analyzed in class. Officer hours are good to clear up confusion. Also, he releases a study guide and if you do that well, the questions are picked directly from the study guide.

Class is very straightforward and easy to understand. Professor Rowen does a great job of explaining concepts. There is a lot of reading, but not very many assignments. Well structured class that should definitely be taken if you are in need of an Arts GE. Would highly recommend!
