[Course taken: MGMT 130A Basic Corporate Finance]
He is genuinely a nice person. He is very kind and has an extraordinary ability to understand foreign English accents. The class material is not that challenging, but the questions on his exams can be difficult and tricky at times. In essence, his lecture is almost useless, but he makes important announcements (like changes in exam dates and homework assignments deadlines) once in a while unexpectedly, so you should go to lectures just to be on the safe side. He uses the slides provided by the textbook company to lecture and the slides are an incomplete reflection of the textbook. So, make sure to study the textbook not the slides. Do all the assigned problems and make sure to know how to do them precisely. Remember, precisely. He tries to cover the textbook almost in its entirety, so there will be a lot of materials to study for the midterm and the final. I don't know what else to say except for do all the problems in the textbook and don't end up not studying much just because he allows you to bring formula sheets to exams. His permission to bring your own formula sheets is a trap. Nearly everyone who relied on their formula sheets failed miserably. As a result, the average on the midterm was 60%. So, memorize every formula and make sure to know how to do them without referring to the textbook. Good luck.
