As a Poli Sci major Professor S. made me seriously question whether I should switch to History instead. He's incredibly knowledgeable, clearly passionate about the subject, and has a rare ability to make complex historical and political ideas feel very relevant. The course has a decent amount of reading, but every single piece is genuinely interesting, so it never feels like a slog. The TAs are outstanding too, they're super engaging, always willing to discuss the material, and really help bring the readings to life during section if you dont understand them Overall, this ended up being one of the easiest and most enjoyable classes I've taken. The workload is very manageable (mostly just thoughtful readings, no pointless busywork), the content is fascinating, and Professor S. is an exceptional lecturer who deserves way more recognition than he gets. This man is underrated and honestly deserves a raise. If you're even slightly interested in political science, history, or just want a professor who actually makes you think, take anything you can with Professor S. 10/10 would recommend. Highly recommend!
