Gurujii’s my absolute goat, where do I even start. If you already have an understanding of the language, you’re chilling. If not, you’ll have to work a little bit harder, but still not difficult. Learning two scripts can sound hard, but he makes it very easy. Gurujii is so funny and makes the class so enjoyable. He offers so much help, answers every email right away, and his main goal is for everyone to do well. Tests are not hard as long as you pay attention in class. Do the homework and show up (yes he takes attendance but you can join on Zoom and even if you don’t you can make up what you missed to earn back points), and you’ll earn the easiest A ever.

Absolutely incredible class led by Guruji-- he brought such a welcoming atmosphere to the class with his daily rants and lighthearted spirit. He said "give me only 15 minutes outside of the class each week and you'll succeed" and was exactly right-- the class is structured with a pace and workload in a way that hardly 15 minutes spent finishing worksheets outside class was enough to learn two different scripts, about seven tenses, and beginner fluency at speaking and reading comprehension. By the end, the whole class was friendly with one another and our TAs, making the language feel far less daunting to repetitively question and deepen our understanding.

Graet prof and good class. If you have no background in Hindi or Urdu it will be a learning curve, but the profs are very helpful and the tests are well spaced to allow you to learn. Toughest thing is learning both alphabets of Hindi and Urdu by week 4 or so.
