Professor Kelsey is a great teacher but his subject is one of the most difficult to master. You will naturally find yourself confused in his class but if you don't understand something, he will definitely be there to make sure you do. My suggestion is to make sure you go visit him and his T.A. during office hours and you will naturally feel more enlightened. If you hate not understanding something on first glance, then this is not the class for you.

Horrible, horrible professor...very unorganized. Yoi will get lost in this class...confusion everywhere. Difficult grader. try another class to fulfill your GE's.

Professor Kelsey is a young rising star in the philosophy world. He is a very smart professor. Lectures, although at times a bit confusing, were nonetheless interesting and thought-provoking. He took what could be a very dense subject and made it approachable to his students. He made sure that his class understood philosophical concepts, as he was always good at explaining things. He truly made the class think! Where holes were left in his lectures, discussion sessions filled them up. He is a very fair grader in exams and papers. If you do the reading and attend his lectures and take good notes on them, you should do well in the course. Just make sure you review his lecture notes to prepare for his exams. His class was really interesting and inspired me to take up more reading on philosophy on my own! If you really want to learn philosophy (a fascinating subject), go with Professor Kelsey, a sure winner!

Kelsey MADE SURE that we understood philosophical concepts. He's good at restating and posing questions for discussion. He is a fair grader. If you do to the reading and make sure you understand concepts from lecture/notes- you'll make it out with at least a B.
