I took Professor Thein twice, usually there's about 4 papers which are like 3-5 pages which isn't bad depending on the TA you get and the best part about her classes is that discussion section isn't mandatory so you don't ever have to go. No quizzes/final exam/midterm exam. There is a group project due at the end of the final quarter which is a big chunk of your grade but I will say she clearly has favoritism and chooses the "best" projects to show on the last day of lecture that is clearly chosen based on her political beliefs and her favorite movies. I would probably never take her again even though I got an A.
