Dai is great. He is a very good teacher and I found his class relatively easy. He assigns homework every week which is due on Friday and he has two midterms and a final. I thought his first midterm was super easy. His second one was trickier. His final, I thought, was pretty okay, but he definitely threw some curve balls in. During his lectures he definitely hints at important problems which he puts in the tests. Some are even the exact same numbers. Overall, go to his lectures (they are helpful), go to section (also helpful) and make sure you understand how to do each type of problem you do in class and in the homework and you'll be fine. I got an A+ and I did all of that. He was basically my favorite teacher so far as well. He's really sweet, understanding and fair. From what I've heard, he is the best Math 3A professor you can get. Good luck!

While Dai's exams were "fair" in that he was lazy and just put the homework questions on his test, his lectures were only somewhat helpful. He often joked around and sped through some material to ensure it was covered. This is not to say he was an ineffective teacher: he would often repeat some concepts to make sure they got through to the students. However, he didn't seem as professional as the other professors.

**Disclaimer** I'm assuming that this is the same professor as Shouxin Dai, a math teacher at UCLA. If I am wrong, disregard this. ************** Professor Dai is one of the fairest teachers I've ever had. His lectures cover exactly what is on the midterms and finals, which were pretty straightforward. He really does not try to trick students; instead he tests our ability to use methods and concepts taught in class. He does have an accent and says some things a little different than what most people are probably used to (like x^3 is "x cubic"). But it's kind of funny and really not an issue. His examples are pretty clear and he ALWAYS takes his time in lectures--never rushed sections, never pinned extra material on us, completely fair in my opinion. He is also very willing to spend more time on examples or explanations if something is unclear. He really is a nice man and a great professor and I highly recommend taking him if you get the chance. Even if he is the earlier lecturer, it's worth it.
