Siddarth is a great professor. If I'm not mistaken, this was his first quarter ever teaching Math 61, potentially ever teaching? Nonetheless, he was absolutely amazing. His lectures wasted no time, covered exactly what you needed to know in a concise but effective way. The notes were always posted online which was great. One small thing that I loved about Siddarth is that he would regularly try to get students to share in his enthusiasm for the material. He did this in a few specific ways, either by establishing a motive for why we should want to study a certain thing within the class, or, when he stated a theorem or fact that he thought was really cool, he would say that to us, like "isn't this kind of amazing?".

Anyways, Siddarth did an amazing job and made me so interested in the concepts that he taught. I would take his class again for any subject. I'll leave a few specific details:

- the first midterm was really easy (average in the 90s), which I think was not necessarily intended
- the second midterm was a little more tricky - much lower avg - but when I went back to it as I was studying for the final, it felt way easier, so I would say just prepare a lot for it and it'll still be easy.
- the final is demanding, but manageable. it includes graph theory with a small proof and other answers that you have to explain using theorems/definitions, so you will rely on your cheat sheet both as something to use during the test and just something that forces you to prepare prior to the test.

Overall, this is not a free class (and it shouldn't be), but Siddarth makes it really satisfying and doable as long as you keep up with the material and homework - I feel like I learned more in this class than almost any other class I've taken in my 4 quarters here.

Prof. Kannan is very engaging, helpful, and understanding. The content in Math 61 is definitely not my strong suit, but Prof. Kannan makes all the concepts simple and easy to understand, and I thoroughly enjoyed the way he introduces each new topic. Lectures mostly were proving theorems, which are then used in homework. During lecture, he welcomes any questions people have and really tries to make sure everyone understands what's going on by providing alternative examples or simple relatable analogies. Lecture notes are then published the same day.

The homeworks and the midterms are both very fair in my opinion. There are weekly homeworks, which are very manageable and relate directly to content in class. He has been flexible with due dates by pushing due dates back 3 days if we haven't gotten to certain topics in class yet. He provides practice exams which are very similar in difficulty to the actual exams, and he goes over them with a live and recorded review session. Lots of additional resources are provided like extra practice problems and weekly worksheets that are optional, which have been helpful.

Overall, I personally didn't enjoy the content in Math 61 (not used to proof-based math), but Prof. Kannan made me genuinely enjoy his class. Highly recommend him.

Very excited to take this professor in the future. This was his first quarter teaching but this is was a highly successful class. After learning from some mistakes on exams 1 and 2, the final was good length and fairness so I am sure his next classes will only see strong exam questions. He posts both a recording and lecture notes so most people skipped live lecture. Out of 9 HWs (10 planned at the start) he dropped 3 and there were 4 grading schemes, 2 of which dropped lowest exam scores and 2 did not count homework at all. He also held exam reviews and posted practice exams with solutions. Would highly recommend this professor.

Kannan was a great professor when I took the class. The exams were very much like the practice midterms and finals, and he was willing to host review sessions before each exam in order to help students prepare. Altogether, probably the best math teacher I've had at UCLA.
