Most Helpful Review
Lau is very laid-back. Usually, she lectures for about 15-30 minutes about the general topic the lab is on, and then you can leave once you're done with the experiment and have entered your data. There's usually a lot of downtime during the experiments, and she doesn't mind if you work on homework for other classes. She doesn't assign traditional lab reports--she gives short homework assignments that require you to use the data you collect in your experiments. One problem is that the questions on the homework are usually very unclear, so make sure to ask questions if you're confused. At the end of the quarter, there is a group project. You make a poster about one of the topics you cover throughout the quarter. She is a very nice grader, so if you always come to lab, make sure to do well on the homework, and make a nice poster, you'll get a good grade.
