Winter 2025 - DO NOT TAKE ANY CLASS BY SOOMEE KIM AT ALL COSTS!! This is the worst professor I have ever had in my life. The assignments are not hard and the readings are relatively. Academically speaking, not the hardest class I've ever taken for sure. Very easy content wise. However, she is absolutely the worst professor and least professional person I've ever met. She always either cancelled class or emailed 20 minutes into class that she was "stuck in traffic". She never lets us know whether or not we are supposed to submit anything and she does everything on her own time. There is no way of knowing your grade until the final grade is posted. There is a big project in this class instead of a final that is submitted in three parts. All three parts have two different sets of instructions. Her syllabus is not synchronous with what her actual instructions are. Even after meeting with her and asking which instructions she wanted us to follow, she rolled her eyes and huffed and puffed until I said it was ok. She is so difficult and immature to deal with. There is no way of knowing when anything is due or what the instructions are on anything. Be prepared to have due dates change, instructions, and syllabus change. If I could get any professor fired from UCLA, it would be her.
