I liked the content of this class - we went over one topic per lecture. Stroessner goes over a TON of content over the 1 hour 15 minutes of class time we have. Oftentimes I would take 5-6 pages of typed notes and I would still have to go back and review things that I missed. The content itself was super interesting though, because this was basically doing a literature review every class. We would cover a topic like Attention, and he would go over the pivotal studies for that, along with a variety of other related studies that further our understanding. He does not record the lectures and his slides are very minimal, so you have to go to hear him describe all the studies - but it was never boring, just a lot of content.

The exams were difficult but manageable if you went to class and read the textbook - it was 40 mcq and 2 short answers. There were 3 midterms, each covering 1/3 of the class (no final). The average was quite low (~71) but I got 88 and 94 on the first two midterms by going to class and taking notes, reading the textbook that he wrote and we had to buy :( and trying to "predict" what the short answers were. Also, the professor held 1 hour Q&A's the night before the midterm. As long as you remember the studies he talks about and the major findings, it's easy to figure out everything else on the midterm. It feels like a classic Comm class.
