First off, Pamarati is nice, well-spoken, clear, and clearly takes his job seriously. I would be lying if I said he was a bad professor, as he does a great job instructing. With that out of the way, the tests were far harder than the homework, and graded harshly. I knew 3 other students in the class, and the best grade was a C, I know for a fact all of us were putting some serious work in, but it wasn't enough to do good on the tests. Midterm 1 had a mean of 33/50, midterm 2 had a mean of 30/50, and the final had a mean of 46/100. While there is a posted curve, it is set up to ensure everyone passes, you will have to perform well on the tests to get a decent grade.
ECE 10 is a very difficult class and you will need to spend a lot of time with the material to understand it. Prof Pamarti is a great lecturer and works hard to make students understand the material. He does not mind being interrupted in class and will take time out of the lecture to explain things if you do not understand any part. My biggest mistake with this class was not practicing enough before the midterms and not attending lectures toward the tail end of the class.
This class was ok. Pamarti is kind of boring but more or less clear. He says the tests are easier than the homework which I would disagree with- for context the first two midterms averaged around 60% and the final averaged around 50%. He doesn't really seem to curve, but he does have his own grading scheme (minimum passing grade is a 56%)
In my opinion, Pamarti is by far the best lecturer in the ECE department. He explains the material in a super clear way that no other professor I had so far could explain. At the beginning of the quarter, he goes somewhat slow in order to ensure everyone is on the same page when it comes to knowing the prerequisite material before diving deeper into the circuit analysis parts. Throughout the lectures, he gave plenty of examples of how to solve different problems, so make sure to pay attention to them.
The homework for this class were somewhat challenging, but as long as you start them early, you will be fine. When it comes to studying for the tests, the best thing you can do to prepare is to study the homework problems as the test questions are slightly easier variations of the homework problems. When I took the class, the averages for the midterms and final were fairly high (around the low 80s), so the exams weren't too difficult.
Professor Pamarti is probably one of the best professors in the ECE department - he is enthusiastic and was extremely helpful during the office hour. This class had two midterms and a final exam. His midterms were reasonable and there wasn't any concepts that weren't covered in the lectures, but the final was significantly more challenging than the midterms, with an average of around 66. However, the curve was pretty generous. Overall, I would highly recommend taking this course with Professor Pamarti.
One of the best lecturer in ECE department, even though his lectures are not organize but it's really helpful. He always stays after class to answer the question and lots of office hours. The class it self is pretty hard and avg for midterm and final were around 65 but there is big curve at the end.
We've all had that class where the professor practically crawled through the material and ridiculously overclarified concepts in that slow, dry, monotone, right? And we've all had that class where the material is difficult and confusing, and we just wish the professor would stop to provide a useful example for clarification, right? Well, you would expect these two scenarios to be mutually exclusive, right?

Enough said.
I went into this class not expecting to like it based on some rather negative reviews for Pamarti on a different page for his EE 10 class. However, I ended up really enjoying this class and think that the old reviews do not accurately reflect Pamarti's current skill in teaching this class.
As other reviews have noted, he is very helpful both in class and on Piazza. You can tell that he truly wants the class to understand the material well, as evidenced by him being very receptive to questions in class and sometimes spending a long time on relatively simple concepts. Likewise, he answers questions pretty quickly on Piazza.
As for exams and homework, they are fairly tough. Homework often involves pretty messy numbers and is graded really harshly for errors. Of the 5 homeworks, I think I only scored above average on 1 or 2 of them. Homework was worth 15% of our grade, so it definitely impacted our grade but did not dominate it.
Regarding exams, he says that you can do well on them if you understand the homework well, and that is probably half true. Some of the questions are very similar to homework problems. However, there are also some questions that are difficult to solve without knowing some kind of trick; one problem in particular on the midterm fell under this category. Seeing old exams can certainly help in this case. Since finals in Winter 2020 were made difficult by coronavirus, the final (which was originally supposed to be worth half our grade) was made optional. I chose to take it, and it was pretty hard as well. Thankfully, Pamarti was much more generous in assigning grades this quarter than he has been in previous quarters. Many more people this quarter got in the A range than in Winter 2019. I thank him for that.
All in all, Pamarti is a really good instructor who truly cares about student learning. This is a tough class but I enjoyed it overall.
Professor Pamarti is a great lecturer who always looks out for his students. He answers students' questions well and make sure the students understand the material. The downside is that the homeworks and exams are tough as he warned the students in the very beginning of the class. My advice to you if you want to take his class, if you are trying to find a course that fulfills those tech-breaths or other requirements that does not relate to your major, I would say try to avoid ECE in general. However, that has nothing to do with the professor; he is wonderful and would definitely have him again with his great attitude. I am a CS major and I happened to pick the wrong choice for my tech-breaths. I have tried my hardest to get a good grade, but end up regretting ECE for my tech-breath. I would take a different tech-breath if I were you. However, it's your choice. Professor Pamarti will push the limit to make sure you put your effort in this class. Even though I completely regret taking ECE, I enjoyed listening and learning with Professor Pamarti because of his positive attitude to engage students to learn circuit theory.
The professor is very clear and thorough in his lectures, and he posts the notes online which is very helpful. He didn't rush through any of the topics, and if he feels like the class isn't quite comfortable with a particular topic, he won't hesitate spending the next hour explaining it with more examples. He is also very responsive on Piazza. Homeworks were tough, but not impossible. Midterm was easier than the homeworks. He offered an optional final for this quarter, which I didn't take, so I can't comment on that. Would definitely recommend Pamarti for EE10.
