This class was a great, easy GE for a physical science requirement that a lot of north campus majors would like! You only have a midterm and a final, the discussions are optional and she posts all her slides online. You do have to go to class because she requires a clicker. Super passionate professor and you can tell that she really just wants you to learn. Our homework was a joke and the final was half group and half multiple choice on your own! Would recommend for north campus majors because it is more conceptual and not a lot of science or math. Also, super relevant/interesting topic in todays time!
Don't know why the reviews are so tough for her. She was nice, and although the class was boring, she tries super hard with cheesy jokes to try to get us interested. The material is sorta interesting, especially with climate-change in the news. Midterm was really easy, the final was a lot harder, but she allowed us to work in groups for 30% of the final test grade. I really only got B+ because I never went to class, which in hindsight, knowing that clicker participation counted, was incredibly dumb. I recommend taking this class with her.
Not an overall terrible professor. Honestly, she tries. Unfortunately this subject was just so boring, especially if you're a south campus major like I am. I wound up in this class because I needed extra units. However, it makes the class easier for me. Every now and then she'll have her ditz moments that make you want to stand up in the middle of class and say "Seriously..." She tries to make her lectures more interesting with very poor jokes which really only she laughs at. Lecture is, as far as the information is concerned, useless because power points are online and her lecture is podcasted. But she does have 4 random pop quizes in lectures.
To give you an idea of how boring and tedious this class is, I am writing this review while in her class.
