Class consisted of a midterm, group podcast and final. Dr. Hofnung is Israeli from Tel Aviv, so her perspective is limited to her experiences. Therefore, you will hear denials of genocide being taught in this course, and Orientalist tropes such as portraying Palestine as a backwards society and the weaponization of LGBTQ+ rights, women’s rights, etc. I personally wouldn’t recommend this class, but it may help broaden your perspective into the way setter colonialists think.

This class consisted of a midterm, a "podcast," which was just a group project where you presented the readings, and a final exam. The midterm was very easy however, the final exam was difficult as it was cumulative. This class looked at gender in Israel as a case study. As such, many controversial topics arose, especially when we talked about Palestinians. This professor is Israeli, so her opinions are informed by her experiences. If you are pro-Palestine, this class could be useful to see another point of view or it could be very distressing when you hear denials of genocide. A very interesting class though the podcasts were very dry especially when people would just read from their notes.

If Dr Hofnung does not provide the final exam for this class, I will say that this class is a five-star class. Everything went well. But the final exam is very hard. The exam came with three parts, multichoice questions, multichoice questions with short answer explanations, and short answers. The professor did not provide you with the PPT and recordings for review. Also, it does not provide a study guide. So it was hard to prepare for the exam. If this class just used the final paper as the final grade. I will say this class is the best.
