I genuinely have never had a more unprofessional professor in my life. She calls on people at random in class and insults them if they don’t know the answer. I think I would rather drag my genitals on 4 miles of broken glass before I’d take another class with her. She goes too quickly through slides, has no tolerance or empathy for students and has no place at ucla. Her unprofessionalism should be investigated by the university. I think she sweetens her coffee with the tears of students. She teaches this intro level course like students all have prior knowledge of the subject likely because she only taught upper divs before this class. I kid you not when I knew the answer to one of her questions but the person next to me did not, she said “at least you’re sitting next to someone smart” in front of the whole class. Next level unprofessionalism, her hatred towards students has no place at UCLA. It feels like every class she’s playing a mental game of trying to get in her students heads and make them feel bad about themselves.

I loved this class and Professor Berges did an excellent job making the material easy to understand. She offered plenty of practice opportunities and was always willing to clarify concepts. Her lectures were well organized, and I felt supported throughout the course. I would definitely recommend doing the homework assignments she gives since most of the test material is based on those concepts. She also offers plenty of extra credit throughout the quarter. This class was a great introduction to accounting and was honestly what made me want to continue learning more. I would definitely recommend this class to other students.

Professor Berges was actually one of the best professors at UCLA that I have had. She was clear on exactly what was going to be tested and modeled her exams after the textbook which made things easy. Additionally, she would take the time to make sure we understood in class and would really teach to what she wanted us to understand. Overall, I would take her again for really any class!

I really like Professor Berges, her 1A class is, in fact, what made me want to pursue accounting in the first place. Her reviews might seem..daunting at first, but I ended up really enjoying the class. I finished with a B+ (I forgot to do 1 or 2 hw assignments, but I scored around 92-95% on both midterm and final). During class, she offers extra credit for participation (I didn't...), but she also gives extra credit sometimes to work on problems during class, which is nice. There is a lot of content, though, as with any accounting class, so I did study a lot. But I felt motivated to so it didn't feel overwhelming.
