Quarter: Fall 2022
Grade: A+
Dec. 18, 2022

In this class, we watch several movies and short films as well as read some short stories of the Black horror sub-genre. In my personal opinion, the list of movies/stories we had to watch or read was quite high (I think it was around 30!) so it was honestly difficult to keep up with discussions/lectures, as all we do is talk about them. You are also graded on discussion participation. Assignments include reflections for every lecture (3-5 sentences), 6 blog posts (400 words each), 1 midterm (multiple choice + 2 essays), and 1 final project (either a 7-page essay or a short film). It was a lot more writing than I anticipated, but I learned a lot about common themes in Black horror and how meaningful many of these movies are.
