I took this class as a GE, read like 1% of the assigned reading and hopefully will get an A in the class. Just show up to lectures and take notes, exams are based almost entirely on the lectures (but there might be more questions from the reading in the future since she's picking up that nobody does the reading). 3 midterms, no final, which is good, and no midterms are cumulative. Cram the listening assignments and study the lecture notes, and you should be set. She's obviously well-informed about ethnomusicology, and I have to say the class ended up actually being moderately interesting. Lectures can get a little tedious, but this class is definitely a pretty easy A.

Wow where do i begin. I took the class as a ge, and I offer an non-ethnomusicology major's opinion. She loves native americans, which is pretty much all I took out of this course. Granted the material she goes over is easy to learn, so getting an A in the class is as simple as showing up to class and paying attention. That gets hard when she doesn't really know (or show that she know) anything concrete outside her specialty (native american). Wikipedia is just as effective in learning the course material, if not better. I would only recommend the course if you are only looking for an easy A.
