Parasher is an amazing lecturer. He treats the class as a seminar, always takes questions, and goes through his slides at the perfect note-taking pace. The class has 2 blue book exams with about 4 questions each I think. You only need about a paragraph to answer each question. Discussions are mandatory. The course material was also very interesting as well if you're interesting in international relations at all. There are readings for each class but they're all super manageable. Overall, really enjoyed this class, the material, and lecture style.
This class was really easy. I'm not even a humanities major, and I thought it was really easy. The amount of your grade that is just participation credit is very high, and the essays are graded quite leniently. I think the average was around a B+ for essays in my section. Your TA makes or breaks this class, and my TA kind of sucked. It was obvious she didn't want to be there, but Professor Parasher was great. His lectures were engaging and interesting, which is a feat given some of the readings we had. The readings themselves are very tedious, but I managed to write every essay without ever fully reading anything, so I wouldn't worry too much about finishing all of them.
literally such an easy class - all classes are recorded you never have to go. ta was super duper chill and gave meaningful feedback that helps you do well on the midterm and final. grade was based on midterm paper, final paper, and participation all split basically evenly. midterm and final papers were both quite short (3-4 pages maximum) and were only based on one question each from lectures. overall super easy, and material was decently digestible.
So easy. Sammy Feldblum was a great TA too! He posts lecture recordings and all the info you will need is in there! The readings are very manageable and discussions are no pressure at all. Honestly don't ever need to attend in person lecture if you can't make it.
