This class was a breeze. I went only once and still got an A in the class (thanks to his policy of putting all the lecture notes on the internet.) Get to know your T.A.'s, because they are the ones that grade your mid-term and final, which account for your entire grade. But if you know the lecture notes from the internet well you'll get a good grade. Easy G.E. satisfier.
Prof. Parsons is a solid instructor. Phil. 31 is a damn easy class, so it's hard to rate the instructor fairly. Keep in mind that if you plan to take Phil 31, you are going to get an easy A regardless of which instructor you choose. Everything is done over the computer...the exams, the HW, everything. Overall, a decent lecturer though!
Even though I got an A in this class I found it kind of hard. I had to spend many hours doing some of the problems and went to many tutoring sections. Pasrsons is a great lecturer and he greatly clarifies the material so going to lecture would be very hepful but probably not needed if you read the text which I never did. Overall a very interesting class and great professor.
