This was a very boring class, but i guess that wasn't terri's fault. she did what she could to make it semi-interesting. actually, i found lecture pointless -- make sure you go to discussion though. Honestly, because this was a 200 person class, most of your interactions will be with the TAs. I had Taekyoon Lim, and he was awesome! so friendly, always willing to help, and will work with you until you clearly understand a concept. Tons of my classmates complained about this course and the TAs, but honestly, i think these students are ill-prepared for UCLA. anyone who thinks this lower division course was tough should drop off. Suck it up, Terri is awesome (in fact, she seems very wacky...but in a good way)...just do the assignments (which are nicely broken up into 5 assignments -- all of which are components of the culminating research paper) and you'll do fine. And i hear anderson is an awesome professor so i hope i could take a class with her in the future b/c this class didnt let her show her true potential (which is there). Take her for sure!
This was apparently the first time she taught this class, but she did a great job. The lectures were well organized and revolved around how to do the final project. With that said, there was no final, just a research essay due. Just make sure you follow her guidelines and hit every point she wants to get full credit. Easy class and the TA was really helpful!
