Co Thu Ba is the best!!!!!!!! She really does care about her students and tries to make her lectures and slides engaging and HW in a way where you do get better at Viet. My Vietnamese is okay not the best so I wouldn't say that the class was easy, but I also wouldn't say it was difficult. Honestly it is a lot of assignments and may be difficult to manage depending on your course load but lowkey that should be standard for language classes. You have to a lot of assignments bc when you are learning a language you need to be practicing every day basically, and most of the assignments are not that difficult, it feels like busy work but it's really there to help with your speaking ability and reading comprehension. I struggled a bit with some of the weekly HWs but I went to her office hours and asked her for help and she was extremely helpful! The quarter long group projects are kinda dookie cuz the format is weird and confusing and you have to do like a video skit, her rubrics can also be confusing but she's really nice and understanding and if you want to do extra credit or bring your grade up you can talk to her.

If you're just trying to pass the class for the language requirement you'll be fine even if you don't put much effort, and if you actually want to get better at viet you will as long as you genuinely engage with the class!
