Take Professor Groeling, he is my favorite professor at UCLA. He's really good at teaching in a way that causes you to remember the stuff later on. He's pretty funny and also very friendly and intelligent. Definitely a must-take Comm professor in my opinion.
I've never taken a tech class b4 and I have never taken a comm upper div class, so I was skeptical about taking Groeling's class. But, Groeling spelled everything out in plain english. His lectures were organized and he actually tried to have fun with the class by having ice breaker type exercises. Midterm and final were manageable and the tech project he has you do was somewhat fun. All his lecture notes were online so you could actually pay attention to what he was saying instead of frivilously taking notes. Overall great professor to take.
If you're not laughing in Professor Groeling's class then there's something wrong with you. He seems like a great guy although he does have the tendency to make fun of some of his students. His tests are pretty difficult though and you really need to do the reading, every single of it if you want a good grade. However, he's very compassionate (arranges make up times for the midterm and the final) and tries to make his lectures as interesting as he can.
I love Prof. Groeling! His humor is very entertaining. He also tries to make the class as engaging as possible through in class exercises. I think that he assigns way to much reading to possibly ever read, especially since the print is really small and some of the articles are terrible. But overall I thought the class was really interesting. And it is absolutely adorable how much he loves his wife and family.
