Fall 2023 - I LOVE TINA. This class was structured so that Jean Luc Margot was the professor for the first half of the quarter and Truede took over after the midterm. I found Treude's sections to be much more interesting than Jean Luc's, and the homework was also way clearer. Jean Luc often put random stuff on his slides that had nothing to do with the homework, but Treude's homework assignments basically all came directly from her slides. You don't need to go to lecture to succeed in this class, but I would still recommend as the lectures can be interesting. They also gave a very generous Extra Credit assignment worth 9.1% of our grade which I thought was extremely nice. LOVEEEE

Spring 2025 - Tina was a great lecturer. Her pace might be a little too slow, but the topics were interesting enough to keep me engaged. I barely attended the lecture in person, but the lab sections are mandatory and crucial to your understanding of the class. The most challenging part of this course is probably the lab final, which constitutes 25% of the overall grade. My TA, Bing Hong Chua, did a great job in explaining concepts and went through the reviews before the exam. The review class with the jeopardy game was fun! I never regretted taking this course as the last science GE requirement for myself. The extra credit grade was easy and gave you a chance to explore marine biology by visiting the sites/ museums, which is a fantastic opportunity. Highly recommend considering this class for the science GE with a very straightforward course structure and little math.

Spring 2023 - This class had by far the most manageable workload I've had in my four years. We had 1 art project and 3 homework assignments. The assignments each take a couple hours at most and she drops the lowest one. The project is full credit/no credit and quite easy to receive full credit. The lecture material is somewhat difficult and hard to follow, but Treude is exceptionally nice and helpful. The exams were more on the difficult side but not insane.
