Quarter: Spring 2023
Grade: B+

Tor was an extremely helpful TA for what is an extremely difficult Comm class. Even though there is an immense amount of content to cover, Tor does his best in explaining the core concepts in discussion. He is good at paring things down to help us understand the big picture, and though sections are optional, going is useful for preparing for the exams (which are in person, and are only short answers and essays). Overall, though Comm 10 was not my favorite course in the comm major, Tor made the experience as enjoyable as he could.

Comm10 is definitely a tough class. I wouldn’t recommend taking if your not a comm major as the workload is very large. However, Tor made this class very enjoyable. He’s super sweet and helped me understand the material and take great notes. There is an in person midterm and final (which require a lot of studying), as well as a 6-7 page paper. He’s not a harsh grader (on the paper). In order to do well you need to take HEAVY notes during both the lecture and the discussion. Do not skip class as it is not recorded. Stay on top of the weekly readings and take heavy notes. The content up to the midterm is easier (it’s about women and men in relationships) than the content in the second half of the quarter (tv, radio, hollywood, mass media). Overall, Tor is the best TA. Would definitely recommend
