Quarter: Winter 2020
Grade: A+
July 4, 2020

Unai is a great instructor and is very passionate about teaching the Basque language and culture. I took this class just for fun and did not regret it one bit. He makes slides explaining what will be taught that day, and gives everyone the opportunity to show that they have understood what is going on. If for whatever reason you don't understand what was taught, he does not mind explaining it to you either during class, through email, or during his office hours. Throughout the quarter he taught new, more complicated parts of the language, but would also have days to review everything that he had taught in SPAN 12A. If you're looking to fulfill the language requirement, I strongly suggest you take this class! The instructor genuinely cares about the students' learning and the class itself is not difficult—all you need to do is try your best and show that you understand the components of language (the different paradigms, the syntax, and, of course, the vocabulary).
