This class taught by professor Panagia was really heavily loaded in terms of the readings and concepts and the writing assignments were colossal in the totality. However it was a very interesting class and Vanessa did a fantastic job explaining the difficult concepts and was very willing to help students. She was also a lenient and flexible grader. I strongly recommend to have her as your TA.
Vanessa was awesome at breaking down Professor Panagia's complex lectures however I feel that she wasn't the best grader. I would ask questions and implement her corrections yet I would still come back with scores that were not optimal because she is very picky. Luckily, she was not a very tough grader and you can probably easily get an A- if you complete what you are supposed to. I think Vanessa will make a great teacher but this class was definitely still frustrating at times.
Vanessa was my TA for 111C with Professor Panagia and she is frankly great. The bulk of work in this class were 3 open ended essays where you discussed terms and concepts from Political Theory. Vanessa made these very difficult seeming essays seem super accessible and was greatly helpful in reviewing your ideas or drafts. In addition, she makes the main concepts of some pretty hefty readings extremely clear in her slides and discussions. If you see Vanessa listed for this class or any other class (I had her as my TA for Polisci 10) I greatly recommend you try to get into her discussion.
