Quarter: Spring 2020
Grade: A+

The course material is mind-numbingly simple but the professor makes the class way harder than it needs to be. She's disorganized on all fronts (rambling lectures, always late to upload class materials online, not lucid about assignment instructions, etc.). She was also very reluctant to accept student input about the class, was curt when answering questions, etc.

Your grade is based on attendance (10%), four short reports (5% each), forum participation (10%), midterm (15%), final (15%), and an ethnography (30%). I'd love to say that all of these assignments are evenly spaced throughout the quarter, but they're not :^) . If you can deal with the disorganization, then the class is an easy A. Overall recommend the class but not the professor.

Quarter: Spring 2020
Grade: A+

At first I was really stressed about this class because of all the assignments the professor gave, but the TAs were so clutch because they graded leniently (basically if you did it or not) and the midterm was easy too. It was all multiple choice so after doing well on that I stopped doing the readings. I didn’t think the readings were really necessary - but if you do want to do the readings they were all uploaded on ccle. There were 2 reading responses (10% total), an ethnography (30%), 2 listening reports (10% total), lecture attendance (10%), 3 replies to conversation board (10%), midterm (15%), and final (15%). The reading responses and conversation board replies were due anytime before finals week.

Quarter: Spring 2020
Grade: A

I came in super interested about the topic but it soon became clear that this professor was VERY disorganized. She was not really clear at all and made the class way harder than it needed to be. The lectures themselves were about 2 hours, twice a week, and for me personally she did not go over 2 hours worth of material. She kept on rambling about irrelevant material, making lectures very boring. The TAs were super lenient graders though, so it made the class easier. But overall I would NOT recommend taking this class with her. I think the class itself would have been very interesting but if another professor taught it.
