Took this class with Edgerton and Cooper. It was like night and day! Cooper was a good lecturer and explained concepts nicely and drew pictures on the overhead. Such a pleasant man, easy to listen to. Edgerton, however, had nothing of value in his lectures, didn't seem prepared at all, and spent a lot of time rambling about how we should be sure to study chapter _. Plus, his lecture slides were just the pictures from the text book. Everyone came to Cooper's lectures..no one came to Edgerton's.
Also, I hated his questions on the midterm and final. I thought the final was RIDICULOUS. And he made a huge deal about making sure we knew a chapter he never went over..so I read it and there was NOTHING on it on the test. It was an interesting chapter, but took up a good 2 hours I could've used to study other stuff. He doesn't consider that we have other classes to study for as well.
If you can take it with someone else, do it.
Avoid Edgerton as a professor. He emphasizes the importance of reading the book while not teaching at all in class. HIs lecture slides are mainly pictures and diagrams from the book. However, if you are looking for research he is your best bet. His lab hires many undergrads and does research in Spinal Cord injuries and such.
