Spring 2020 - I took this class when classes were made online so there were a lot of changes made to the class. Professor Narro is very kind and puts the students' needs first. Since the pandemic was on everyone's mind, he would lead mediation and mindfulness workshops in class. I think he is very caring for that reason. As for the work load, we had assigned readings for the class which were uploaded on CCLE. Each week we had a discussion post but it was very short. Our only big assignments were two 4 page reflections. We were going to have a final paper but that was changed. We often had guest speakers. The class was originally supposed to be 3 hours but he would make the class an hour tops.

Winter 2017 - The professor is probably the best one I've had in my whole four years here, he cares so deeply for the well being of the students. He provides students with meditation techniques in order for us to have moments of self care all the while teaching us social justice activism tied with nonviolence movements and ideals. Although you would need to apply for the class, I highly recommend it. The class grade was made up of three parts, 3 paper reflections, class participation and discussion, and a final project.
