Quarter: Spring 2025
Grade: A

This was a great class with reasonable homework assignments and exams. A lot of the exam questions were similar to what was in the lecture and homework, and they aren't graded too harshly. If you just study what's in the lecture slides and what you got wrong on your homework, you should expect a good grade. There was also coding for the discussion worksheets and homework, but they weren't too difficult, and Dr. Barber and the TAs were extremely helpful so it wasn't too scary. The only thing I didn't really like about the class were the clicker questions, but none of them were graded on correctness so it wasn't too bad. Overall both Dr. Barber and the TAs were also super understanding and helpful so I highly recommend this class!!!

While this class wasn't easy, it was very rewarding, as the exams felt like studying was correlated with a higher score. Dr. Barber is very understanding as we had the option to replace our final score with the average of our two midterms (due to the ICE situation). Participation, HW, and the group project took up a high portion of our grade, making it so exams were less than half of our grade, which was very forgiving. There was some coding in this class, but it was mostly graded on completion and never on the exams. Overall, would recommend as a chemistry elective but don't expect this class to be a very easy A.
