Wenhao is straight up a terrible lecturer and will leave you more confused than just reading the textbook. However, he makes practice tests that are identical (literally) to the two midterms, and the final is a combination of ~70% third practice exam and problems from the midterms.
As long as you know how to solve the problems he gives you and do the weekly homework, you should be fine. Class is definitely not mandatory, Wenhao is probably one of the easiest on your GPA math profs you can take and has very clear expectations. I hope he never changes.
