Pros:
Homework: 2 problems per lecture, the lowest two were dropped.
No participation grade
Most people, including myself, got 100% on the exams.
Review sessions the day before exams.
Index cards
She gives (and sticks too) the outline she gives at the beginning of the course, so its easy to get ahead using the textbook.
The content was fun too! Mind you, I am a math major.
She is nice, laughs at jokes, and office hours aren't awkward if you have questions
Mediums:
Tests 5 true/false 4 free response
When you ask her a specific question, she often refers to her own slides, which are often word-for-word from the textbook or Google. If you can really explain your confusion, she can give you some answer, but sometimes it is just "out of the scope of the course," or you just watch her Google the answer, just like you did yesterday. She feels more like a peer than an instructor, which I appreciate when talking with her, but it is worrisome when the person making your exam doesn't have concrete answers to certain questions.
Cons:
None
Overall, she is my favorite professor! If you like the content and are used to self-studying, you can do really well. If you depend on lectures, get hung up on questions, or just don't want to study outside of class and homework, change who you are. Wern is perfect.
