Professor Conley is probably the best professor at UCLA. He pours his heart out into teaching. He explains every concept very clearly, even starting from the very basic and trivial ones. Even though the material is not easy, he clarifies everything in his lectures, or his 3-4 hour review sessions before every midterm. His midterms are of medium difficulty. Not super hard, but not easy peasy. Homework assignments are not difficult if you have been keeping up with lectures and reading the book. Professor Conley is a generous soul. One time, I forgot to do a part of the homework, and he was very understanding when I turned the rest in a day later. TAKE HIM!!!!! He will change your perspective on Math and lyfe.

Conley is one of the best or probably the best professor on campus. A lot of people say he is easy, but honestly he's not all that easy. He's just a great professor, but if you have a hard time with math in general, the class will still be a challenge. HW is adequately challenging, but the midterms are tricky. If you forgot one concept or don't know one question, your grade on the midterm could drop to like a C. All in all though a great professor, I got a B in his class, but I'm pretty sure if I took some other math professor I would have gotten a C-.

By far the best Math professor I've had. If you have the opportunity to take Conley for a math course, do it. He is really good at teaching and explains thing well. On top of that, his office hours are extremely helpful. Usually he takes all the students who show up to a vacant classroom next to his office and answers question individually in a very clear way. If I had to criticize anything about his teaching, it would be that he can sometimes move to slow or be a little repetitive, but that is MUCH better than moving to quickly or being vague. I knew he was a great teacher while I was in his course, but it wasn't until the next quarter when I had a professor who didn't explain things very much at all that I really came to appreciate Conley's teaching.

As far as the difficulty of the course goes, I would not say that it is an easy A. The homework and subject can be a bit challenging, however the exams are not terribly difficult. You are expected to have a thorough understanding of the course material, however this is easily possible because Conley prepares students well. In general, great professor, great lecturer, great guy.

There will be no other words to describe Professor Conley other than "amazing."
He is truly a wonderful math teacher who can actually teach math at a suitable level for everyone. I have heard things, not bright things, from other professors who are also teaching 32A, and I would say that I am extremely happy to have Professor Conley as my instructor.
His lectures can be slow, yes. He usually spends like the first 10 minutes of each lecture to go over stuff from previous lecture(s)...
So here is my brief message: whenever you have a chance to take him, do so.
Also, get to know him. Come to his office hours. You are also welcome to come into the office whenever he is available there (maybe even when it is not his office hour). He is a really, really interesting guy, and you WILL like him! I have not met a person who has a bad overall feeling about him!
He might be a little bit slow in responding to email or posting things, but whenever he does, you will be amazed by how details the email is and how dedicated he is to his students (FYI, he has million of things going at the same time, so... it takes a bit of time for him to type up his usually really long and detailed response email).
P/S: His class will usually be filled up first, and he will receive requests for PTEs even though other lectures might still have spots. So that tells you how really awesome he is.
BEST PROFESSOR EVER!
