I took this class to declare as a History major. Professor Marotti was a compassionate and attentive instructor who genuinely valued each student's feedback and ideas on how to improve the class so that each student could succeed. Although the class was reading-intensive, the workload was manageable. The course structure consisted of weekly discussions that were as long as each student wanted. The culmination of the class was a final 8-10 page paper that provided students with the opportunity to explore a theme of their choice revolving around the overarching topic of the course. I highly recommend taking this course with Professor Marotti. He was funny and kind.
