I've never actually met this professor so I don't even know if he exists, but supposedly he was the professor for Physics 4AL. This class was completely pointless. The lab reports took up a few hours of my week that could've been used to do something better like actually learning physics for my real physics class. The class basically tests your ability to BS and use excel. I was glad to have a Friday lab so that I could get some of the answers from those who had earlier labs because I never had a clue what was going on (and yet still ended up with an A in the class).

You never actually get to meet Slater unless you make an appointment to do so. Lab for Physics sucks. The manual is almost incomprehensible and your grade is pretty much dependent on your TA's expectations. Dont kill yourself over it, the class is only 2 units.

I took Physics 4AL in F05. It feels strange writing a review for a professor I've never met in my life - yes, he has no active student contact. I've never been to his OHs. Jury's still out on whether or not he actually exists, but I digress.

Grades are entirely dependant on eight lab reports. Letter grades are not assigned to reports. Instead they are graded under the confusing P+, P, P-, NP system.

A guide to how a final letter grade is found from these scores is not available, but if there was one, I would have loved to read it. I received 5 P-'s, 2 P's and 1 P+. My final grade: A-. Brilliant.
