Forget scand 50. This is by far the easiest class you can take. Literally two weeks worth of material taught during the whole quarter.

Noticing that someone is giving a thumbs down for every person that says the class is easy (so whoever's salty, I wanna let you know, you might as well do that for me right now).

The workload for this class is amazing. It's very minimal with weekly discussion quizzes(8 total however due to no Thanksgiving quizzes, etc, and you can miss 2) that are essentially based on completion and are stated to be pass no pass. Every 2 weeks there's about one homework assignment that is about 3-5 questions and typically take 30 minutes to complete. They're usually pretty easy, but based on accuracy, so make sure to ask your TA for any clarification or you're potentially losing HW points. There is one midterm and one final, in which your final can replace the midterm grade if you choose to take the "bonus"/makeup portion of the final. Like someone mentioned about 60% of the class received an A+ on the first midterm, so it was very easy and reasonable. About 8% for the final however, and I did notice it was harder or had more questions that got me stuck while taking it. While I did well on the final, I don't agree with the person that said it was just as easy as the midterm and people were overconfident. It was slightly harder and likely people were overconfident also, so just be wary of that and don't get cocky if you do well on the midterm. Overall - probably the easiest GE I've taken now (I've taken some of the notoriously easy GE's here at UCLA already as an upperclassman, so this was definitely a nice surprise).

Easy A+ class.
Engaging professor.
Helpful and nice.
Minimum Workload. (4 homework done within 20min, 4 mandatory readings but I never read them, get A+ on quizzes if you are at discussion)
Easy GE.
Exams: for the midterm, over half of the students got A+; the final is a bit hard-I got an A but my overall was still A+.
However, I do not feel that I have learned a lot from this class.

Honestly I felt the need to write this review just to defend Sharvit from one of the reviews below who said she was rude and blunt. Professor Sharvit is incredibly kind, patient, and clear. She has a huge heart for her students and literally said she made the material way simpler just so we could understand it easier. There were honestly so many entitled kids in this class who took advantage of her kindness and were incredibly rude to her/asked questions that clearly demonstrated they weren’t paying attention and she still patiently explained all of the concepts to the best of her ability. I felt bad for her at some points :( and if a ton of people were disrespecting me in my class I’d be a little annoyed too. She literally spent time to make 30 practice questions for the final/bonus part of the final that would replace the midterm and a bunch of people were being so bluntly ungrateful and demanding her to skip the bonus practice questions that she worked hard to put together for us. Anyways Sharvit is genuinely such a nice person and this class was really easy (the final was trickier than the midterm but I still got an A+ with not that much studying) so I’d definitely recommend taking it!

This was a very easy class for a GE. There were only 4 very short homework assignments and a brief report on an experiment you choose to participate in. Lectures were posted via PowerPoints online; the only reason why you would ever take notes in class would be to write down the answers to a couple of the practice problems.

In sections, you have to show up to take at least 6 out of 8 quizzes. You can honestly miss all the other sections as long as you take 6, and you get full points on them just for being there. The midterm and final are incredibly straightforward and require only a brief review over the slides the nights before. There's maybe 2 mandatory readings throughout the quarter, no textbook, and the material itself is ridiculously easy and so are the test questions. It really takes little effort to basically get a A/A+ in this class.

This class is an easy A. The professor is very nice and explains the concepts fairly well. You can tell she really cares about how well her students understand the material.
The material is pretty straightforward and the exams are just as you predict. However, some concepts may get tricky so make sure you seek help from your TA since there's very few homework assignments, so make sure you do them right.
I put this class in the back burner and focused on other classes instead, did minimal effort to study, and I didn't really pay close attention in lectures and I still ended the class with an A-. If I really did put in the work like I was supposed to, I'm confident I could have received an A+.

This class is really easy and there is very little actual material you need to know. Be careful and don't totally blow off the exams just because it is easy, though. Go over the slides, take notes, and go to class. No, you don't always need to show up but just do work for other classes if you understand the new material fast. Everyone did very well on the midterm and did worse on the final (which was only a bit harder) and I was no exception. I did study, but in the end you have to be very careful because it's just 35 questions so you can't make too many mistakes. Big pro is this class has such a light workload and you can prioritize other classes. I would recommend this class; can be pretty interesting for a GE (sorry, I don't really think UCLA has the most interesting GEs) and is easy/light. Maybe the easiest class at UCLA with Sharvit.

This class was a breeze with Shavrit and was pretty interesting too. There were only four mandatory readings posted on CCLE throughout the quarter, and 5 easy homework assignments that each could be done in less than an hour. One of them is to participate in a research study and write a report about it, but the rest are related to a specific topic from the previous lecture. Lecture was honestly pretty slow at times - it felt like half the lecture was usually a review of the content from the lecture before, which wasn't really necessary in my opinion. Both the midterm and final were 35 questions multiple choice. If for some reason you missed the midterm or got a grade below an A+ on it, you could take a "bonus" section during the final which was basically a retake of the midterm that will replace your grade for it if you score higher. There was a "quiz" every week of section, but it was basically used to take attendance and a way for you to evaluate how well you understand the material. It didn't matter what you wrote on there. My TA stopped collecting them halfway through the quarter and just took attendance normally. Very easy GE if taken with Professor Shavrit. Highly recommend.

Honestly easiest class I've ever taken. Go to lecture and you only need to pay attention for first 30 minutes bc that's when she introduces the new topics. Then she spends the next example doing really easy examples. You could look at the slides at home but she doesn't put the answers to the examples. There are quizzes in sections which are really easy and my TA went over it before collecting them. Also, she drops 2/9 quizzes. No textbook needed and she sends u the articles u need to read and there were like 2 total. Easier than a middle school class honestly.

Very easy GE if i you want to fulfill a life sci or philosophical/linguistic analysis GE :). You don't really need to go to lecture – I did (and ended up doing work for classes in them), although it is helpful to ensure you have to do essentially no studying outside of class. Her exams are incredibly straightforward. 35 questions of 3 choice MC that don't even try to trick you. First midterm had over 60% of the class get an A+. However, be warned that the final distribution was not as nice – less than a third of the class got an A- or above. However, I 100% believe that this was because of overconfidence in the material (you do have to study for the final - for like 30 minutes to make sure you know basic terminology). I thought the final was no harder than the midterm, so my assumption is people blew it off completely. Very minimal effort to just make sure you understand the basics will go a huge way though!

**Edit: Make sure to take my advice with a grain of salt, as it seems many disagree with me (sorry, I didn't mean to offend anyone or overgeneralize). Main takeaway I would say is that this class is very doable, but it's important to make sure you understand everything (and seek help if you don't).
