Yi Peng was such a nice professor, really accommodating and helpful. Her exams are very similar to the HW and practice exams. The assignments can be very long sometimes but they’re manageable if you start early. Her lectures were sometimes hard to follow and she goes a little fast but the class handbook has everything you need in it. She offered 5% participation extra credit as well as lowered grade boundaries and test corrections so it’s not too difficult to do well in the class if you put in effort.
This class was really enjoyable, one of my favorites in the C&EE department. Professor Peng is a great professor and really cares for her students. Her slides and lectures are well-organized and easily followed if you pay attention and utilize the course reader book. Homeworks are tough, so it's helpful to get some old homeworks to reference. The tests are reasonably challenging (open-note) so make sure to study well for that. If you put in the effort, go to class, and study the course reader well, this class should be fun and not too difficult.
