Monthly Rent: $2000 - $2000
I lived in Strathmore Towers for a year and I love it very much. There are several reasons why I like it. First, our manager Danny is very nice, he can remember every one of us, our name, our apartment No., our home country, etc. He responds to our requests very efficiently to ensure we have a good living condition. He always notifies our package's arrival, and I never lost any packages after I moved to Strathmore Towers. He not only takes care of us but is also a genuine friend who loves joking and casual chatting using our home language (Danny a definitely genius in language learning lol). Second, I love my apartment. The studio is cost-effective, private, and spacious. The window and balcony are large, and I always eat on the balcony. It is truly enjoyable sitting on the balcony with the breeze blowing across my body after a busy working day. Third, I have a very good friend living in another apartment in Strathmore Towers. We always coming back from the lab together, cooking and eating together, and it makes life peaceful and enjoyable. So having a friend who also lives here would be suggested and definitely make your life better. Other reasons including the beautiful flowers in the yard, the large swimming pool, the clean environment, and the close distance to school also make this apartment the best near UCLA. I am glad and thankful that I chose this apartment.
I lived at 10941 Strathmore Drive from 2019-2021 and it was an amazing experience! First of all, the landlord, Danny, is one of the most personable and sociable people you'll ever meet! He remembers everyone's names better than any teacher that has tried LOL and he always makes it a goal to have a friendly, communal environment within the entire apartment complex. He is also always on top of any maintenance in the apartment and will fix anything broken in your apartment ASAP. He's a great landlord, and a great friend!
I also lived pretty close to the pool (which is honestly probably one of the best and most picturesque pool areas in Westwood) and laundry while living on the 1st floor, so it was really convenient. The noise from Strathmore Drive (not the apartment itself) is more noticeable on the 1st floor, but we got used to it! If you are sensitive to noise, just request an apartment in the inner part of the complex and it's totally fine. Danny makes sure that no loud parties take place in the apartment complex itself, so it is always nice to live and study in. For a 1 bed/1 bath living with 3 guys total paying $700 each, we definitely had a great deal of space and we had an awesome balcony where we could study/eat/talk while looking out into Westwood.
Overall, 10941 Strathmore Drive was a great place to call home over the past 2 years, and I'm definitely going to miss living here. If you're considering finding an affordable apartment close to UCLA with a landlord who actually cares about you and the apartment complex, pick this apartment!
I lived in this apartment from 2019-2021 and I can say this was one of the best decisions I made while at UCLA. We had toured many places and this one was easily a win. It has a very convenient location, even closer than some of the dorms, especially going to South campus. Also, the building is very secure as you have to pass two locked doors in the front entrance. The building is gorgeous with lots of plants and greenery and is maintained weekly. Since it is an older building maintenance is often required, but Danny is very attentive and makes sure to go out of his way to get it fixed ASAP by doing it himself or calling someone to take care of it. Danny really is a phenomenal landlord that will make your experience living there enjoyable and stress free. He is very caring of his tenants, remembering everyone's names in an attempt to build community, which was all very much appreciated! Go ahead, sign the lease, you won't regret it!!
The apartment has a good location, only 10 mins walk to UCLA and the location is convenient in daily life as well. The price is also affordable and reasonable.
Danny is an amazing landlord and a nice guy, friendly, warmhearted, and responsible. He remembers all tenants' names and treats us as friends. He is always willing to help when we get troubles. Everytime we got a package, he would call us the first time, just in case we miss that. Whenever our apt met some issues, he came to fix it ASAP. He tries his best to make every tenant feel comfortable and happy living here.
Highly recommend choosing here!
I really enjoyed living at Strathmore Towers for many reasons, from its proximity to campus and Westwood to its affordable pricing (relative to other apartments in the area). Although the building is a bit older, nothing was really inconvenient or unenjoyable. If anything, living there was super convenient for me because it only took me about 10-15 minutes to walk anywhere I needed to. I love the lobby because of the freshness and constant music playing. My friends always complimented the spaciousness and comfortability of my apartment when they visited. I'm really glad I lived here for my last two years of college.
I have to also note that my roommates and I were super fortunate to have had Danny as a landlord, especially after hearing horror stories about jerk landlords from friends. Danny was always accommodating and tried to help us out in any way he could. For example, he would replace light bulbs in our apartments or fix small things for free, and he's always on top of it too. Problems usually get resolved within the week, if not within the day. He would alert us when we have packages or just come by to visit and ask us how we're doing. There are hundreds of tenants in the place, but he really does try to get to know everyone personally. Possibly the best landlord in Westwood! I'm looking to go back to UCLA for grad school, and I'm definitely coming back here.
Danny is the BEST landlord ever! From the beginning he took care of all of our concerns. He is very student friendly and truly cares about making all his residents happy.
Some experiences I wanted to share:
-The building is on the older side, so there are times when maintenance is needed and when we tell Danny about it, he gets on it asap. Usually within the day he has someone scheduled to come in and fix the problem.
-He always greets people by name and he lives in the building too, so easy to contact him for anything! He even calls us when we have packages, so we can pick them up from the lobby.
-The interior of the apartment complex is also soooo nice with so many plants I love walking into the apartment and seeing all the greenery...its the little things that count!
-Very reasonable price
-Although we live close to the frats, the noise has never been a problem for me. You can hear music occasionally but its was not distracting enough that I could not study.
-Secure building
-After I moved out, we got our deposit back within a couple weeks, so no complaints there!
-There is a heater but no AC so it can get hot in the summer. I would suggest getting a portable AC if heat is a concern. We had a portable fan for the living space and there was also a ceiling fan in the bedroom which worked for us.
-Would rent here again!
The stay was great for the last year, but now we are looking for a lease transfer for the year 2020-2021. If you or anyone wanted to find a place to live, this is it! It is very spacious, has a pool, a balcony and a private parking spot.
Rent is 1800 and can be divided into 2 people! Dm me on insta @carinetyy if interested!
Danny is a really great landlord. He treats the tenants in his apartment like a community - he remembers everyone's names, calls you when there are packages, and super open in helping you out (e.g. offering help when moving in when he bumps into us, delivering packages to our doors sometimes, opening garage doors, etc.) The apartment itself is beautiful - I should have used the pool a lot more times when I stayed there. The unit we lived in had plenty of sunlight and overlooks the pool. It's pretty expensive for a 1 bedroom compared to places after I graduated, but it is a Westwood apartment and it's super close to campus. The only downside I can think of is the crappy elevator that stops by every floor (and we live in the 5th floor) - but I just took the stairs for the most part and it's fine. I stayed here for 2 years and will miss the place!
I lived in this building for 3 years and had an overall great experience. Danny is a very attentive manager that goes above and beyond to make your life better. If anything is wrong he'll get it sorted out right away. Not only is he a great manager but he's also a great guy. I would recommend living in this building to anyone.
I lived at Strathmore Towers for 3 years and it was the best decision. Not only was it convenient to both UCLA and Westwood, but the building itself was a great environment. The landlord Danny is approachable, kind, and very helpful to the tenants needs, he makes himself available and you can tell he wants the best for everyone who lives there. Our neighbors were always nice and I also felt safe with the gated entry. I would definitely recommend living here!
