Monthly Rent: $2000 - $2000
One of the best deals as a UCLA student! Highly recommend. Here’s a realistic rundown with all you need to know:
-$2100/month for 1 bed/1 bath
-between 3 people, rent was $700/person
-water and trash included in rent
-all other utilities not included (~$30-50/month/person)
-1 free parking space
-spacious living room and kitchen
-plenty of closet and cabinet space
-bathroom is a decent size
-no A/C, but heater is provided
-onsite laundry room, must use quarters
-mailboxes in the lobby, make sure to pick up packages on time
-keys needed to open all building doors
-SUPER close to campus, 10 minute walk without any hills
-easy walk to downtown Westwood, again barely any hills when walking back with groceries in hand
-friendly staff clean the general apartment every weekend, please tell them thank you
-great atmosphere with music in the lobby and so many plants, feels like you’re living in a tropical forest
-students, faculty, and couples live in the complex so it's usually quiet
-close to Frat Row, a little loud but I was fine with the music, but my room was right next to the street so I could occasionally hear the party-goers outside
-lease is signed same day manager gives you a tour of the apartment, so just be prepared to make a decision on the spot!
The manager, Danny, is your friend! Don’t be shy, go to him if there’s any issues, feel free to chat with him. The apartment is slightly old but is kept very clean and maintained well. This is a DEAL for any student. Trust me, you’ll appreciate the short walks and the price is one of the lowest you can get for a sufficient amount of space and amenities!
lived here for 2 years and overall a great place to live in terms of cost and how close it is to campus. The building itself is a little old looking but is maintained really well. The landlord is really friendly and understanding and responds to maintenance requests really quickly. Nice parking garage and pretty nice pool too. If you don't mind a slightly smaller living space than usual in certain units, I'd definitely recommend looking into this apartment if you're looking for some place close to campus and cheaper than most Westwood apartments.
Danny is an AMAZING manager,
- not only does he attend to every concern, he also calls whenever packages arrive to ensure safety of products and tenants. He takes his time getting to know tenants and their loved ones. The apartment is located in a great area and is very spacious. We were three people in one bedroom and it felt cozy and comfortable. Thank you Strathmore for some of the best years of my life, signed, K5!
I lived at a studio in this building for near 1 year in 2019, and I had a great experience.
The location of this building is excellent for people who study in UCLA. This building is old somehow, but it is very well maintained. It includes elevators, a pool, garage parking, and onsite laundry. The studio is very spacious, I and my family felt very comfortable. The apartment had a lot of natural lighting, a large balcony, and the kitchen was upgraded right before we moved in.
Danny is the manager at this property and he is very nice. He always wanted to make sure that residents were comfortable and felt safe. Whenever there were issues with our apartment, Danny would make sure they would get fixed asap. He is also very friendly. He introduced some neighbors to me. I had a great time living here.
Although the building is fairly old, Strathmore Towers is a great, safe, and comfortable place to live in. The landlord, Danny, is extremely helpful and does his best to address any concerns as soon as possible. The apartment complex is very close to UCLA and is a great choice for students!
I am extremely pleased to have chosen Strathmore Towers as my home for the past year and a half. It is about a ten to fifteen-minute walk to the campus and a ten-minute walk to the Ronald Reagan hospital if you work or volunteer there. You get one parking space for free. Utilities, gas, and wifi are at a decent price per month. I think the building was built in the 60s but it has been very well-kept by the manager (Danny) and the people who clean and maintain the building every weekend. As others have mentioned, Danny truly is a guardian angel and the backbone of this building. He really goes out of his way to help you when you need him and to keep the building in great shape. He is extremely organized and follows through. He even tries to get to know you and introduces you to your neighbors--all in an effort to build a friendly community in the building. I highly recommend living here.
My roommates and I lived here for 2 years, from 2017-2019. Hands down, the best place to live, considering the proximity to campus, the cleanliness of the place, and the highly responsive manager Danny. Everything is well-kept: my roommate always saw people cleaning there; the pool is always clean and a nice area to hangout/chat; and there's a bunch of plants that adds to the aesthetic. The radio music from the lobby puts a smile to my day when I leave for class and when I come back. It does get noisy at night, considering that my apartment was across the street from the frat houses, but Danny warned me of this before I moved in. Overall, I believe Danny was the main reason why I enjoyed living at the Strathmore Towers so much. Like another have said, he was very welcoming and would always introduce me to other tenants. He addresses any issues I have right away and has a high concern for the apartment's security. (You'll find that every door that you need to pass through is locked. I also saw him installing a more secure front door.) Definitely would live here again if I were still attending UCLA.
This apartment is a great place to live in the Westwood area and a perfect choice for students. I stayed here for 1 year while my roommates were here for 2, and we've all had a great experience at Strathmore Towers. The building is very well maintained and has a lot of plants and landscaping that makes it very aesthetically pleasing. Above all, the manager here, Danny, is amazing. He's always friendly and responsive to his tenants, making sure our living experience is a good one. He truly tries to build a community with his residents and will gladly take time to ask you about your day and introduce you to your neighbors. If there's any maintenance issue, you can call or text him and he'll come straight away to fix things himself or call someone else to do so. I will truly miss living here and having Danny as my manager.
We lived in a studio apartment from 2017 to 2019. The location is great, walking distance to UCLA and Westwood Village. The building is kept in great condition. The pool area is really good for hanging out and is kept very clean. The apartment was in perfect condition when we moved in, and for any small issue we could always ask Danny (the manager) and he would get it fixed right away. The manager is probably the greatest asset of this building: he is extremely welcoming to new people and tries to introduce everyone to each other. He really does everything to help you and to make you feel at home.
