Unit was pretty cool. The personnel were courteous and friendly, unit owner very accommodating. The internet service made it possible for me to study while on holiday. Overall, it was a nice stay, could recommend it to friends who wish to study in UCLA.
I have been living here for 3 years now (in a two bedroom and two bathroom apt) and don't want to leave! The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is extremely safe, in regards to smoke alarms as well as building security. The rooftop terrace is lovely, with great views. The neighborhood is quiet and serene and I love being able to walk into Westwood village. It is really so easy to get anywhere in LA. The 405 is right here. I used to live in Beverly Hills and moving just 5 minutes away has saved me 20 mins in commuting. The building is always super clean and well maintained. It is worth the rent - hands down!
I read some other reviews here I just feel some things are over exaggerated or wounded if the person even lived in the building.
Don't believe all the negative reviews. From talking with the management and other people living and renting condos in this building, the bad reviews are mostly from people that didn't stay or were asked not to stay. They take the time to specifically not recommend the building. Like over 98% of the people we talked with who live and know the building since the condo conversion really like it. It's not for everyone because it's not a party building and the prices probably reflect the location, amenities, pool, laundry, on-site managers and all side by side parking. The problems have been overcome by a new management company. These days it seems it can be hard to find openings at different times of the year, so be patient.
The manager of the building is very friendly and very helpful whenever any problem arises. Ron and the management takes real good care of the building. It is very clean, the building is well maintained except for the elevator but I heard they are putting a new one in the next 2 months finally. Parking is available in the building and that’s a huge plus especially if you don’t want to park on the streets.
I just received the email from Ron asking if we can put reviews here for the building so here it goes…
Let me start by saying that this was a GOOD building. And if anyone did not like it they have a big stick up there A**. The building issue was the elevator although I heard that they are putting a new one from the email blast so we kind of got screwed this year. I WILL be staying here next year so if anyone will need roommates I’m looking please email me because two of my male room mates are moving out due to the fact that they are graduating. FYI, I have a 3 bed 2 baths. Females are welcome. People last year were fighting over the last apartment and we were happy to be the one that got it. Great location, everyone who lives in the building are all student. I think this is the only rule here. We had some great parties this year and the management did not bother us much. For the most part it’s a quite building there are 4 apartments per floor and only 4 floors. The apartments are big we can easily fit 7 people. We have tons of closet space. The Roof was also something rare I don’t think any other building allows 24 hrs. access to the roof that has a huge jacuzzi. Close to campus, close to Westwood.
I'm satisfied with it for the most part. It is a nice place, fairly spacious, two-bedroom apartment rent is based on the floor level. All utilities included except for gas and electric which comes out to about 20 dollars a month. Maintenance could be better, but my problems have all been fixed. It's in a good location, right next to UCLA.
The Apartment I stayed is clean, cozy and quiet. Spacious enough for myself and I really liked it coz it's not far from my school in fact a walking distance only. Though it has it's lapses still the place is affordable for students like me who is on a budget basis. In general, I have no regrets living in there.
I was impressed with the location first. I think it’s one of the best value for money available in Westwood. You can't beat 550 for a spot. Near Westwood Village and UCLA campus. Really speaking, the building is located in the heart of Westwood and holds it's own prestige. Great for UCLA students, professionals working in the vicinity. I do think that one of the building rules is that you must be a student to live here. During the night time you guys should check out the roof probably the reason why I probably signed up to begin with.
These apartments are awesome! I lived here for a year and I loved it. Here is my feedback:
1. Super safe. The building is located in one of the best areas in Los Angeles. Almost anybody you see is a student. You live only minutes away from campus.
2. Clean swimming pool and hot tub. 360 views of all of Los Angeles from Hollywood to Santa Monica and Downtown
3. Very nice building. My friends who used to visit me always told me how nice my apartment is.
4. There is a limit of 5 people in a 2 bedroom apartment, but the manager does not create issue if friends come an stay over. The lease states that you have to inform the manager if someone is staying at your place for more an a month or something, but after informing him, Ronald does not increase your rent or creates issues if it’s for a month or two.
5. Had a washer and dryer in our apartment! I love the fact that I didn't have to drag my laundry bags to another floor, and that also reduces overcrowding in the laundry rooms.
6. Trash outlet on each floor too, and the trash room is always closed avoiding smell in the hallways.
7. Manager lives 2 min away. Even when he is not there, he makes sure there is Rachel the virtual secretary is available to handle emergency issues.
8. Ronald is a really helpful manager. He has his limitations because he also is under the main management, but he will do all he can to fix your problems. He is not one of those over friendly managers who will smile and talk sweetly to you all the time but do nothing in return, he is straight forward and to the point, but not rude either, and that’s what I like about him.
9. Apartment walls are thick, no noise on the hallways. The people who live here are mature and not party lads, so its quiet at night. Parking is assigned and on the lower level, and you can get 2 parking spots per apartment.
10. The location is really good. If you're a UCLA student, the bruin bus comes every 15 mins to a stop nearby. CVS - my favorite place :) is 5 min away your also min away from restaurants and grocery stores.
I had a friend who lived here years before and told me nothing but good things. I am currently living in this building and will probably stay here till I graduate UCLA.
The managers and staff are very sweet and nice people. They are eager to assist in any way they could. The unit itself is very comfortable, clean and good for students who go to UCLA. Plus, the rent is very affordable I pay less than 600. Located on a quiet neighborhood, 15mins walk to UCLA.
