Fall 2022 - I'll split this review into two parts the class and the professor: The class: The class has a lot of work, she gives a lot of work that can sometimes be too much and feel unnecessary. Participation matters and your final is a final portfolio of your essays written throughout the class. There are also presentations and attendance is taken. The Professor: Professor Dickey is a wonderful professor. She is very funny and is very forgiving/understanding with late work and sometimes deadlines. Her lectures can give you the inspiration to write essays and her feedback for your essays are very helpful. I really do not like English but Professor Dickey made the class fun and interesting.

I had him last quarter, and he is SUPER NICE!!! However, his class can be quite tedious. We never read any books, just short readings. Some of them were interesting, but some of them I could care less about. The essays aren't difficult and he goes over your essays when you have conferences with him. Like I said, he's super nice so feel free to ask questions!! He'll be more than happy to answer them :) Oh and his hair's cool :)aha

Fall 2018 - Professor Galvin was overall a great professor, she took the time to explain assignments and was an easy professor to talk to, her assignments weren't hard and only took about a few hours. She also provides a few ways to get extra credit to help students. I am also selling her course reader for $25 if anyone is interested email me: *************.

Fall 2014 - Other reviews may be outdated. She was pretty cool in my opinion. She was strict but it helped students succeed. A lot of freshmen take her class, that's probably why they think she's mean. As a senior, barely writing this review (lol) I can say she was not bad at all. She gave really good advice so we could write our papers, grades fairly, and knows what she's talking about. You have to talk at least once in class or she will call you out on it. By that, I mean she will say "*NAME*, what did you like about this weeks reading?" or "what did you learn?" or "what do you think about it?" easy questions!!!! Only material is 1 course reader. I still have it and can ship it to you for $10 through Venmo. Tracking info will be included. I just want to get rid of all my books. So yes, it will be shipped out asap. Text me: **********

Fall 2019 - Took this class fall 2019 and the theme was food writing. Professor Hitchner is super nice, take his class if you can! We wrote 4 essays, but one of them was a restaurant review and it was really short compared to the other 3, which we also peer reviewed. Occasionally we'd do some writing exercises out of a book that were graded for completion, but they were pretty simple, you could pretty much just do them right before class. The class overall is super easy and fun, especially if you're into food. I'm selling one of the required books, American Food Writing by Molly O'Neill, for $10 (shipping not included, but I'll be moving back to campus for fall 2020). Text me at **********
