Fall 2023 - This class was listed as Queer-of-Color and Transgender-of-Color Theories and Imaginaries. This class had really long but interesting readings. The discussions we had in class were not the best, maybe due to the fact that not many people did the readings or Professor Cornejo is not that good at facilitating discussion. He has a lot of potential, though, and I see he is very passionate and knowledgeable about the subject. The class had minimal work with a 4-page keyword essay, a group presentation on the readings, and an extension of the keyword essay from 4 to 6 pages due finals week. I think if we had smaller group discussions on the readings and then discussed the readings as a class, the class would feel more engaging. Overall not a bad class, considering this was Professor Cornejo's first time teaching an undergraduate class at UCLA.
