I think Professor Baldwin is a great professor. Yes, it's a little overwhelming to have a 3 hour class on Mondays, but the movie makes it go by faster, and it doesn't seem too bad after a few weeks. The material is extremely interesting and he cracks jokes every now and then. If you bomb the midterm, don't worry. He told us that if we do better on the final, that will be your final grade and if you don't do as well on the final, then your midterm will give you a boost. Like the past reviews, he is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to.

Winter 2024 - Professor Penny was one of my favorite professors at UCLA. I was struggling at the beginning of the quarter with some stuff outside of school and accidentally did an assignment wrong, and let me redo the whole thing for full credit. I thought the course material was very interesting, and he focusses a lot on externalities outside of what we consider German culture. For my class there was also some required field trips where you have to go to the LACMA and the Wende Museum. 10/10 recommend taking this class if you have any interest in German History.
